It is my pleasure to share my love and knowledge of this beautiful, historical southeastern region of France bordering Italy and the Mediterranean Sea.
Provence is known for its diverse landscapes, Roman ruins, and quaint hilltop villages. You'll find endless culinary delights from fresh farmers' markets and family-run wineries to Michelin-starred restaurants.
Our home away from home will be located in a hilltop village. The 6-bedroom, 6-bath home boasts a cave pool, sun deck, and patio dining with views of one of the most beautiful places in France. For centuries, artists have been allured to this hilltop village to capture the colors and rolling landscape in the Provincal scenery.
Joie de Vivre En Provence
July 13 - 19, 2025
Enjoy a warm welcome at the Avignon train station on Sunday, October 6th. We will gather to drive to our home in Gordes to unpack, enjoy a restorative yoga session, and eat our first French meal together as we get to know one another.
Our days will be a compliment of enjoying the aesthetics of our luxury cliff side home, yoga, hiking, and touring local villages, markets, and vineyards. We will enjoy the splendor of the morning sunrise over the scenic landscape, take morning walks to the lavender fields of Senanque Abbey, practice daily yoga, visit the largest wine cork museum in the world, visit local French markets, hike Luberon trails, tour the only Pope’s Palace outside of Rome, tour multiple Luberon vineyards, and indulge in French cuisine.
The resplendence of Provence can be easily reached by train from Paris, Lyon, Milan, or other European locations. Cliffside villas, lavender fields, centuries old vineyards, and the rolling hills of Luberon add color, texture, and a sense of awe to the French landscape.
Provencal culture is abundant with bustling markets, outdoor cafes, museums filled with exquisite art, magnificent cathedrals, Vin-Biologique vineyards, and locals ready to share centuries of history.
The Luberon is a massif in central Provence in Southern France, part of the French Prealps. It has a maximum elevation of 1,256 metres and an area of about 600 square kilometres. It is composed of three mountain ranges: Lesser Luberon, Greater Luberon and Eastern Luberon. The area includes numerous hiking trails through the Luberon ranges.
The Luberon viticultural area is situated between the Ventoux and Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence appellations, to the north and south respectively. The Luberon vineyards are located within 60km (37 miles) of the Mediterranean coast, and enjoy the benefits of the gentle, south-facing slopes that run from the Mont Ventoux foothills to the sea.
Rosé dominates production - around half of the appellation's wines are rosé - while red and white wines represent 28 and 24 percent of production respectively. Summer is the perfect time to taste the crisper, more interesting white wines of the southern Rhône.
One of the many family owned Luberon vineyards, Domaine de la Citadelle, is not only the home of lovely white, rosé, and red wine, but hosts the largest wine cork museum in the world.
One of the most entertaining part of the French cultural scene is definitely market days! Provencal market days are not just a time to buy what you need, they are also a time to observe this most French of rituals, when some of the stereotypes come alive. They are typically enjoyed by exploring the French produce and goods followed by dining at a local cafe.
On our last day we will explore the town of Avignon and its daily market. Avignon rests on the bank of the Rhone River and is endowed with the only Pope’s Palace outside of Rome. It has an enchanting selection of local shops, outdoor cafes, upscale dining, and carousel.
We will celebrate the close of our time together with a group prepared meal made from our Avignon market exploration and other local favorite bakeries, butcheries, etc. Not a chef, no worries! You can sit, drink wine, give directions, tell stories…whatever! It is truly about the community, connection, and new friendships.

“The French air clears up the brain and does good – a world of good.”
